Katie Scott
Director of Member Services

Katie Scott is a native of Idaho, hailing from Coeur d'Alene, where she spent her formative years. While attending Coeur d'Alene High School, she was actively employed at SL Start Corp., a company dedicated to empowering disabled children. Following her high school graduation, Katie made the move to Eugene, Oregon, to pursue her higher education at the University of Oregon, where she focused her studies on Psychology and Social Work. During her college years, she worked as a Developmental Therapist, specializing in aiding children with severe autism. This experience deepened her understanding of various aspects of human development, including physical, cognitive, social, personal, and emotional growth.

After several years of working with disabled children, Mrs. Scott transitioned into a career as an event planner. Her primary responsibilities included orchestrating meetings, conventions, and a range of special events, from weddings to fundraisers.

Despite her enjoyment of event planning, she made the choice to step away from her career to focus on raising her son. During this time, she became highly involved in her son's life, dedicating countless hours to volunteer work. She played an active role in the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), where she organized fundraisers, managed the school store, arranged holiday events, and implemented positive changes to enhance parent involvement within the PTO.

Katie reentered the workforce in 2015 as a youth development professional at the Meridian Boys and Girls Club. During her tenure at the Club, she successfully designed and implemented three targeted programs and contributed to the establishment of an additional summer program for the children. Her remarkable contributions led to her promotion to the position of Membership Director and Volunteer Coordinator.

In 2017, she embraced a new challenge as the Office Manager at CLA. Her background in event planning, coupled with her experience directing the Boys and Girls Club, positioned her as a valuable asset to CLA. Despite no longer being employed at the Boys and Girls Club, her heart remains devoted to the welfare of children and she recognizes the invaluable service that the club provides to the community.

In 2019, Mrs. Scott transitioned to the role of Project Manager and later promoted to the Director of Member Services. In this capacity, she oversees and facilitates research, special events, and manages multiple CLA committees. She closely collaborates with research departments across various states to coordinate surveys for CLA members. Katie is responsible for planning, monitoring, and executing the CLA website and serves as the administrator for the membership database. Her work significantly contributes to various social media platforms through marketing, providing information, and aiding in employment opportunities for members. Mrs. Scott works in close partnership with her team to ensure that member expectations are not only met but exceeded.
