Katie Scott
Deputy Director

Katie Scott serves as the Deputy Director of the Correctional Leaders Association (CLA), where she leads strategic initiatives, member engagement, research projects, and the planning and execution of national conferences and leadership programs. Since joining CLA in 2017, she has advanced through several leadership roles, including Office Manager, Project Manager, Director of Member Services, and now Deputy Director.

A native of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Katie studied Psychology and Social Work at the University of Oregon. Early in her career, she worked as a Developmental Therapist, supporting children with severe autism and their families. She later transitioned into event management, where she planned and coordinated conferences, conventions, fundraisers, and other large-scale events. These experiences provided a strong foundation in leadership, communication, project management, and relationship building.

Before joining CLA, Katie served as Membership Director and Volunteer Coordinator for the Meridian Boys & Girls Club, where she developed innovative youth programs, expanded volunteer engagement, and strengthened community partnerships.

Today, Katie works closely with correctional leaders from across the United States to advance CLA's mission of promoting collaboration, professional development, and innovation within the corrections profession. She oversees national conferences, leadership events, association committees, member services, research initiatives, the CLA website, and the organization's membership database. She also partners with correctional agencies nationwide to coordinate surveys, educational programming, and strategic initiatives that provide valuable resources and networking opportunities for members.

Katie is passionate about creating meaningful member experiences and building strong relationships across the corrections community. She believes the strength of CLA lies in its ability to connect correctional leaders, foster collaboration, and provide a trusted network where members can learn from one another and work together to address the evolving challenges facing the profession.
